About

The Archives Centre for the Diocese of Melbourne is located in North Fitzroy in a purpose-built Centre. The Centre is staffed on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8am till 4pm. 

The Centre holds two collections: Archives and Books.  The Archives comprises correspondence, minutes and other matters relating to the Diocese and various churches.  It also holds some parish records from parishes that have closed or are unable to store their own records.  Generally, each parish holds its own records.

The Anglican Special Book Collection comprises books by and about Melbourne Anglicans and Melbourne Anglicanism and a few other relevant topics including Victorian Diocesan Year books, Synod Papers, and Parish histories. Donations are most welcome.

We have a small Research Room, that people are welcome to use, with prior approval.  Email us at archives@melbourneanglican.org.au with your enquiries. Bookings are essential
