- To Messrs Moule, Hamilton and Kiddle 55 Market Street Melbourne re. M. King and Co. Pty. Ltd. premises Bourke St. City - I hand you correspondence with Messrs Hoad and Bonella (Solicitors for M. King and Co.). I understand they are preparing the necessary documents in connection with proposals set out in my letter of the 29th October 1929. Will you kindly peruse the document on behalf of the Diocese. November 16 1929. Page 1.

- To Messrs Moule, Hamilton and Kiddle - Bishopric Endowment Fund C McDonald - We have agreed to advance Mr C. McDonald 3,500 pounds afor 5 years at 61/2% payable half-yearly on security of 469 acres 34 perches. Allotments 120 and 121, parish of Cannum near Warracknabeal. I have asked the brrower's agent Mr G. J. Crerar of Warraknabeal to advise you where title can be inspected. Kindly prepare the necessary legal documents. The mortgage will be in the name of the Archbishop as Trustee of the above fund. November 18 1929. Page 2. P.S... there is at present no Archbishop and the Administrator is on sick leave for a month that the mortgage be made out in the name of the the Church of England Trusts Corporation and the Corporation Trustees could execute a document to the effect that they hold the same on behalf of the fund.

- To Education Department Public Office Treasury Place Melbourne C.2. - I have to acknowledge receipt of the lease in connection with the land desired for school endowment plantation purposes at Bellarine, and inform you that this Department considers that a clause providing for compensation in the event of the termination of the lease should be embodied in the document. The school endowment plantation scheme provides for the growth of various kinds of trees and on maturity for the sale of the timber. In the event of the lease being terminated before the trees have matured it would mean no compensation would be paid to this Department for the loss of the timber. It is desired to know whether it would be possible to have a clause providing compensation inserted in the lease which is returned herewith. November 25 1929, Pages 9.

C. Caton, by contract dated 29th September 1911, which contract was subsequently assigned to the Church of England Trusts Corporation. We presume you hold the title and will be obliged if you will let us know the Vol. and Folio so that we can search at the Titles Office... let us know if you have a plan of survey, as the land sold is only part of the land in title... I quite agree with the last paragraph in your letter, viz: we think the decision of Mr Justice Macfarlan highly technical and that it might be an advantage to endeavour to obtain an order-of-the-court in this particular case with the object of getting a more general ruling from the court as above indicated. I therefore suggest you go on with the matter. March 11 1930. Page 51.

We have inspected the Light Court of your property building No. 103 - 105 William Street and adjoining No. 101 with regard to the proposal ... to place a steel window frame in the wall facing the court... 1. Unless the court is one with a common right of light for both parties... must obtain the sanction of the owners of No. 103... right of light ... is shown on the Title Deed 2. Assuming... is not shared in common, then the sanctioning of the placing of the window... would most likely affect your building rights, only as regards any additional storeys around the light court, necessitating stepping back of the added storeys in order to give required angle of light... 3.... we can see no reason why a window... would affect your extending your building to the right-of-way at rear at a future date... the additions evidently recently made by 101 at the rear of their property and presumably adjoining your property line, have windows directly facing on to your property... However, the Payne's Act of Parliament dated 1908 with regard to Light rights will no doubt be your protection 4. Any windows built... be carried out in accordance with the Building Regulations and Requirements of the City of Melbourne. April 11 1930. Pages 77 - 78.

The matter of filling the vacant offices was before the Archbishop-in-Council at its last meeting, and the question was raised whether the Regulation of Elections Act, sections 2 and 6 applied, in view of section 22 of the Special Mission District Act.
