Election of a new Archbishop to succeed Archbishop Freier.
•Archbishop Freier will retire, and the See will become vacant, at midnight on February 9 2025. Bishop Genieve Blackwell will become the Administrator, until the new Archbishop of Melbourne is installed. The election Synod was held Friday May 23 and the new Archbishop, Bishop Ric Thorpe, was elected on Saturday 24th May.
