- To Reverend J. K. Hall ( John Kay ), I am requested by the Lord Bishop in reply to your letter of the 5th _ to say that it was his intention to place Graytown under the superintendence of the Incumbent of Heathcote, and that unless the Archdeacon desires to be relieved from the charge his Lordship would prefer that he should continue to retain it. His Lordship desires to say also that he was unaware of _ suspecting to be _ to Graytown, and accordingly mentioned him to Archdeacon Stretch. August 9 1870. Page 1.

- To George Dawson Esquire, Post Office Melbourne ... In reply to your letter of the 25th instant I am requested by the Lord Bishop to say that he does not at present know of any one who wants a tutor for his children and that he has no power of obtaining other employment for you. His Lordship desires me to add that if Sir. W. F. Stawell and _ Justice Dobson are willing to recommend you, you had better produce letters to that effect. August 30 1870. Page 113.

- To the Trustees of Church of England, North Fitzroy ... Having heard that you are not proceeding with the Church at North Fitzroy, I think it right to remind you that the funds appropriated by the Council of the Diocese must be taken up by _ December next or will _ lapse. If it is allowed to lapse it is very unlikely that any further appropriation will be made. September 5 1870. Page 167.

- To The Reverend Dalton, Case of The Reverend, The Secretary of the Society of the Propagation of the Gospel ... I am requested by the Lord Bishop of Melbourne to enquire of you whether lending libraries can be obtained from Dr. Bray's Associates for Clergymen and parishes in the Colonies, and what steps must be taken for the purpose of obtaining them. - A typed letter ( hand-written at the bottom of the page - A copy of this circular was addressed to every member of the Church Assembly, Lay and Clerical and was posted or delivered on the 17th and 18th November 1870. The Lord Bishop has deemed it expedient to call a meeting of the Church Assembly for Tuesday, the 6th December next, at half-past three o'clock p.m. at the Assembly Hall, Collins-street Melbourne ( St. Enoch's Church ), and has issued his summons accordingly, of which I forward you herewith a copy....

- To the Trustees of Church of England, North Fitzroy ... I forward a statement of your account in respect of the grant in aid of the erection of the North Fitzroy Church for the current year showing a balance in your favour of 135 pounds 12 shillings which has been paid to the credit of E. S. and A. Bank, Collingwood. December 21 1870. Page 728.

- To A. Cass, Post Office _ I beg to inform you in reply to your letter of the 13 instant, that a certificate of your baptism is not connected with your licence as Reader in this Diocese. It would not have been handed in, in ordinary course, for the Bishop is not in the habit of requiring the production of such a document before granting a Reader's Licence. December 20 1870. Page 747.
