Morris has drawn upon you in favour of the Union Bank of Australia at 30 days sight for 150 pounds being the moiety of the amount granted by your society of the amount granted by your Society to the Diocese of Melbourne for the Year 1872... P.S. I do not know whether the Bishop will think it necessary you should take the oaths again ( It is five years since you signed the book.. to do so a Commission can be sent to the Archdeacon ... - To Reverend W. Hall (William) Glenalbyn, Kingower in reply to your letter of 13th I inform you that the Reverend MacCullagh ( John Christian ) misapprehended the arrangements which has existed since the 1st January 1872 for the payment of readers in the Archdeaconry of Castlemaine and Sandhurst. The readers stipend is supposed to be derived from local funds subsidised by a contribution of 40 pounds per annum, not from the General Fund of the Diocese but from the District Fund of Archdeaconry. The General Fund simply helps the District Fund by a contribution of a certain sum per annum for each Reader employed. In the Sandhurst District the help thus afforded is at the rate of 20 pounds per annum and that of Castlemaine 25 pounds ...... February 15 1873. Page 145.

I beg to direct your special attention to the provisions of the Act of the Church Assembly, No 2, Session 1872.... the absence of a representative during the whole of any one Session, without due cause shown to the satisfaction of the Assembly, may cause his seat to be vacated.
