- To The Very Reverend The Dean Of Melbourne from W. Morris ..... The Bishop requests me to inform you that under the circumstances , he has accepted the Reverend S. Copeland ( Samuel ) resignation of the Cure of Tallarook. April 22 1870. Page 4.
- To Reverend J. Y. Wilson (James Yelverton ) ... no registration of, nor documentation connected with the marriage of Robert Walsh and Bridget? McCarthy can be found, but a letter has been received from _ McKenzie? in which he says " I have the most distinct recollection of marrying the persons above named ". I will show you the letter if you call when you are in the neighbourhood. April 23 1870. Page 6.
- To The Reverend F. C. Platts ( Frederick Charles ) ... By direction of the Bishop I forward to you the accompanying copy of the majority of the Triers selected to investigate the complaint against you _ by? Walter Wright. May 2 1870. Page 44.
- To N. N. Willis Esquire re. Church Trustees Egerton ... I beg to inform you that the Governor in Council has appointed _ Bailey, Tanner, Morgan, Jackson and Willis Trustees of the land at Egerton set apart for Church of England purposes by order in Council 21st February last. I have applied to the Treasurer for payment of a Grant of 80 pounds which will be remitted when it has been obtained from the Paymaster. This will not be made before the end of the month. May 3 1870. Page 45.
- To the Reverend J. Fulford ( John ), The Trustees of the School House are prepared to assent to the arrangements under which, if it be carried out, the building will be used for Church purposes only, and are willing to further the views of the Committee as expressed in Cottell ( C. J. ) ? letter of the 30th April. Before however they can undertake any responsibility in respect to the Bill, they must receive a satisfactory guarantee that the expense that they may be put in carrying through Parliament will be replaced by the members of the Church principally interested in the matter.... May 11 1870. Page 114.

Cottell Esquire forwarding the amended plans of the proposed arrangement of converting the Prahran Schoolhouse into a Church and erecting a new school building on the land purchased by the Bishop at the back of the present building. Information His Lordship would like - An estimate of the value of 1. the land marked "a" in the accompanying sketch. (Schoolroom) 2. value of the building as it now stands. 3. probable cost of a new School building as would satisfy the requirement of the Board of Education and provide sufficient accommodation. 4. A statement of the funds in hand for the erection of the Church. 5. A statement of the value of the land in the Commercial Road and 6. An estimate of the probable cost of the necessary alterations in the present schoolroom to make it available for Public Worship. June 10 1870. Pages 292 - 293.

I am directed by the Lord Bishop to inform you in reply to your letter of the 15th instant that he is willing to give the land behind the school, which he has purchased on his own private account, for the site of a new School Building, and to do all in his power to expedite the passing of the Bill.... June 17 1870. Pages 350 -351.
- A typed letter ...A meeting of the Governors of, and Subscriber of 10 pounds and upwards during the current year, to the Church of England Grammar School and College, Melbourne will be held at the School, on Saturday the 24th day of September next, immediately after the General Meeting of the Council and Electors for the purpose of electing two members of the Council, in the stead of the Hon. James Henty and the Hon. T. T. a'Beckett, who retire by rotation.
- To Henry Henty Esquire replying to you letter of 28th ult. and directed by the Lord Bishop that he is quite unable to give the Ballaarat Bishopric Committee any reliable information as to the present mode of appointing Colonial Bishops..... He thinks that the only recognition of future Colonial Bishops to be expected from the Crown is that of licence for their Consecration in England, and that no Letters Patent are likely to be again _. If the Committee will mention the names of the Laymen whom they wish to cooperate with them the Bishop will give the requisite invitations. .. The Bishop thinks it desirable to hold a meeting in Melbourne... as a meeting of the Cathedral Chapter is to be held on Wednesday the 17th instant, probably the following day may be convenient for Archdeacon Stretch and others. August 9 1870. Pages 737 - 738.
