- To Reverend T. Quinton ( Thomas ) - I shall feel obliged by your signing and returning the accompanying paper. A licence enabling you to act as a Surrogate will then be issued. January 21 1875. Page 2.
- To The Reverend S. Scott ( Samuel Baird? ) - I am directed by the Vicar-General to offer to you from him the cure of Sunbury... The stipend ...200 pounds thereof is contributed by one gentleman W. J. Clarke . He and the Hon. J. G. Francis who is a resident of Sunbury and a liberal supporter of the Church are at present absent on a visit to Europe but W. Clarke's contribution will be paid while he is away. There is no parsonage at present... January 22 1875. Page 3.
- To Dr Hearn, Melbourne University - The Dean has requested me to write to you to say he should be very glad to have the benefit of a conference with you on the subject of the filling up of the vacancy in the Trusteeship of Trinity College occasioned by the death of Professor Wilson... January 22 1875. Page 8.

Raynor, Epping - Referring to your note of the 10th September 1873 in which you ask for further time in which to pay the debt of the Trustees of the Church in Epping to the Episcopal Fund, I now write to say that more than a year having elapsed since that request was made I shall be glad to receive the amount... January 30 1875. Page 28.
- To The Reverend M. H. Cahill ( Michael Francis ) - we have not any land at Woodford belonging to the Church other than that which was given by W. Rutledge. February 4 1875. Page 58.
- To the Registrar, Melbourne University - I have just received by the mail from England, just delivered the enclosed resignation by the Lord Bishop of Melbourne of his seat on the Council of the University addressed to the Chancellor... February 11 1875. Page 88.
- To _ Fraser an Co., Collins Street - the Council of the Diocese took into consideration at its meeting yesterday the proposal made by to you by W. McComas? for taking a lease of lots 12 and 13 of subdivision of Church lands fronting William Street and have advised acceptance thereof... February 11 1875. Page 93.
- To A. J. Stead Esquire... Richmond Terrace, Richmond - I have the honor to inform you that the Council of the Diocese took into consideration at its meeting yesterday the offer forwarded by you by Messrs Roberts, Clapp and Sprigg to take a lease of the Richmond Church land for thirty years .... February 11 1875. Pages 94 - 95.
- The Right Reverend the Lord Bishop of Sydney - My dear Lord, You will doubtless have received the mail just arrived from England a letter from one Bishop informing you of the requirement made by the Archbishop of Canterbury's secretary which will have to be satisfied before His Grace can consecrate Dr Thornton the first Bishop of Ballarat... February 12 1875. Pages 100 - 101.
- To Sir William – On the eve of the departure of the last mail for England I received a note from the Dean …. Regarding sections 8-9-17 and 18 of Act 2 of Church Assembly Session 1872 and Section 13 of Act No. 2 1873 he and only he could dissolve the existing Church Assembly and will into existence a new one adding in a postscript “ Sir W S says it depends on the wording of the commission?” ..... March 11 1873. Pages 202 – 204.
- To A. P. Taylor Esquire, Alexandra – By direction of the Very Reverend the Vicar General I wish to inform you that the Rev. J. W. H. L'Oste ( John William Henry ) of Station Peak ( Little River and Werribee?) has accepted the offer of the charge of the Parochial District of Alexandra. April 6 1875. Page 296.
- To Reverend Dr. Bromby - will you kindly name a time when it will be convenient for you to attend at the Registry to take the Oaths before receiving your licence to officiate at Toorak... April 20 1875. Page 345.
- To The Very Reverend The Dean of Melbourne - Dr. Thornton will not be the Bishop of Ballarat until he has been installed and taken the oath required by the Act ... until the installation the Bishop of Melbourne shall exercise in the Diocese of Ballarat all his episcopal powers ...
